We are beginning the process of benchmarking our sustainability performance — establishing a baseline from which to measure progress and identify where we can make the most meaningful improvements.
Energy & Solar
We are in early conversations with Estates about energy use across our buildings and the potential for solar generation. This will form part of our broader Sustainability Process Map.
Recycling Legacy Materials
We are scoping options for responsibly recycling legacy collection materials — including formats that have reached the end of their useful life. This may include piloting recycling, exploring costs, or joining a collective endeavour with other libraries.
Seed Bank
We are exploring the possibility of establishing seed banks across campus — starting small and building toward something more permanent. We are looking at suitable spaces, storage solutions, and potential partnerships with existing reuse initiatives at the university.
